More about the show

1001 Stevies x Pretty Beat are throwing an afternoon rager to channel our collective anger into communal activism on the patio of SF legacy business and LTBTQ community hub El Rio, all benefitting Louisiana Abortion Fund, a nonprofit that provides low-barrier access & assistance for reproductive health care throughout the Southern US.

Artists include The Furious Tits; Baycoin Beats (playing selections from The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill); and Tracey Holland’s SF-indie-scene supergroup (featuring SF artists Oona, Suzanimal, and Tolula, among others) covering the Alt Girlies: a mix of the 90s-00s alt, punk, riot grrrl, R&B, and soul. Since 2017, 1001 Stevies has been producing multi-city concert events aimed at raising funds + awareness for abortion access and reproductive justice. Here’s a great 48 Hills story about our events.

This year, we’re teaming up with Pretty Beat, a local org that supports artists of underrepped genders working in nonlinear media, to present this celebration of groundbreaking artists who gave voice to our collective experiences, feelings, and angst.

Craft and food vendors, a Not-So-Silent Auction, and specialty swag will round out the programming for this one-of-a-kind event.

More about 1001 Stevies

Established in 2017 by longtime SF music veteran Tracey Holland (Vandella / The Old Grey Whistle Test), 1001 Stevies is a passion project borne out of several things Tracey stands for: music, abortion access, and bodily autonomy for all. An ongoing multi-city event aimed at raising awareness & funds for abortion access & reproductive healthcare, 1001 Stevies produces one-of-a-kind shows that create a space for catharsis, community, healing, and action through music.

Past events, including The Night of 1,001 Stevies and The Soundtrack from Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, have raised thousands of dollars for different orgs, including SFWAR (SF Women Against Rape), ACCESSRJ, and ARC Southeast.

Artists that have participated in 1001 Stevies productions include Josiah Johnson (The Head and The Heart), Laura Burhenn (The Mynabirds), Leslie Stevens (Florence + The Machine, Father John Misty, Jonathan Wilson), Debbie Neigher (Lapel, Marina and the Diamonds, Demi Lovato, Suki Waterhouse), French Cassettes, Spooky Mansion, Everyone Is Dirty, Lalin St. Juste (The Seshen), Alycia Lang, and Goodnight, Texas.
